Day Eighty Three ~ In Your Backyard

I am so ashamed to admit this, but it took me years to discover this … a 5 minute walk from my home.  Lesson learned ~ Step out of your routine, take another route, go where you haven’t before, in your own neighborhood … you may be surprised at what you discover!

    • They are grain silos. They were built in 1902 and at the time were the tallest buildings in the county. Ha! 🙂

I’m learning that lesson from your blog everyday because you always post pictures of things or places with your own unique eye towards them, which either makes them fresh for me again, or teaches me that something so awesome exists just around the corner. This is a perfect example. I have no idea where this is or what it is, but it looks historic. What is it?

    • They are grain silos from Dwight B. Heard’s 7500 acre ranch which is now the Legacy Golf Resort and remain preserved at the 18th fairway… they were once the tallest structures in Maricopa county, built in 1902… ha!

  3. Wow, I’ve never seen that either. What the heck is it????? It’s cool-looking. I’m thinking by South Mountain maybe?

    • They are grain silos and yes, South Mountain area… preserved from the Dwight B. Heard 7500 acre ranch which the Legacy Golf Resort is now built on… residing on the 18th fairway… 🙂
